I just want to share some thoughts about recent developments in WoW and the recent lack of developments. I just want to remind everyone, I'm
speaking for myself and myself alone.
As far as I see it, we could have two situations. The first would be that this recent lack of information is just the latest in a long string of occasional lapses in any real news, and that the beta is being continually pushed back (likely into 2004). The second is that we will have an outpouring of new information (Gnomes, Trolls, Locations, Skills, General Info) soon and the beta will follow. Given Blizzard's record, the first one is more likely but since we heard a few weeks ago that the Gnomes and Trolls were close to being released to the public, I'm not sure...
December 1, 2003:
If we have an announcement of both Gnomes and Trolls by this point I think Beta could concievably be this year. It takes Blizzard almost a month sometimes to process beta applications and get everything ready and sent, so it would probably just barely make it before the New Year. If we don't have the new information by this point, I think it's hopeless for getting the beta this year.
Therefore I'm hoping and praying... to every god/diety ever mentioned by anyone that we
get some info soon.
If the unspeakable happens and beta is further pushed back into 2004, I would suggest that it's possible that the beta could be shortened to get a Summer release... or we could simply be seeing the retail version of WoW around Christmas 2004.
That's how I see things.
